> Scientology vs Christianity

Here we go again—a debate between two ideologies.
Do you believe in Science or God? Are you a “seeing-is-believing” type of person or “story-telling” type?
Watch this Science vs Chritian video. The video is titled “The Best Optical Illusion in the World,” but in reality it’s a debate between science and religion. Hope you won’t get offended by it. If you do, you should read the rest of this post after watching the video.

So, are you a “seeing-is-believing” type of person or “story-telling” type?
If you’re the former, you probably believe in science where everything has to be supported or disapproved by hard evidence that can be seen, measured, or touched. If you’re the latter, you probably believe in religion where everything is passed down by people through stories, records, history, or documents that are difficult to prove from today’s scientific methods.
Some people think science is absolute or real, whereas God is fabricated. However they often forget that scientific evidence starts with hypothesis, which then leads to theory and law. But you know…a theory is still a theory. Is it absolutely real? Maybe it is, based on the current technology used to test the hypothesis. Who knows if the theory can stand upto itself centuries later, when better experimental methods become available?
Now…the God. Well…for one thing, his presence cannot be tested. For second thing, there are so many different versions of Bibles, most of them are based on translation (which one is correct?). Individual interpretation of the translated bible further confounds the meaning (if any) of any messages in the bible. Furthermore, there are so many different Gods from different cultures. So, which one are we talking about? Is there one more superior than others?? If they’re all equal, why are there so many wars and conflicts due to religion differences in both the present time and the past?
I believe people shouldn’t focus on “Language” too much, because it obscures our minds. Language helps us to understand things easily but we shouldn’t take it for granted, because languauge is man-made, and the meaning of words changes with time and with people who read/interpret them. So, next time when you open your Bible, take the words as they are. It’s merely a record of some people in the past who are dead already. Those ancient moments may be memorable to some, but don’t waste the breath arguing with someone that this is the godly way and that not…etc. Where is the exact line that divides godly from non-godly?
There is a saying in Chinese: “A name that can be named is not a real name; an ideology that can be expressed is not a real ideology.” What this means is (based on “my interpretation and language ability” unfortunately, so as to “help” you understand) that if you say something is white, then it’s not black…..but are you sure it’s absolutely not black? Black and white are relative terms, and their meanings changes with time and individual perspectives. As soon as you use language to express a thing, the meaning of that thing is immediately changed and obscured by the words you use. Make sense? Language is just an aid and can never represent the true meaning of an idea.
So, what does the word “God” mean to you? I let you decide…..

Just to let you know; Scientology has NOTHING to do with science.
Scientology is a religion based on a science fiction writer’s story by the name of L. Ron Hubbard.
The title of this should be, “Science Vs. Christianity.”
